POSITION SPECIFIC TRAINING & COACHING
Our training is delivered by veterans of the U.S. National Strike Force (NSF) Public Information Assist Team (PIAT). PIAT members deploy as Public Information Officers (PIOs) in support of Federal On Scene Coordinators and have pretty much seen it all.
Our training is designed to help industry communication staff seamlessly plug into any joint, government-led response operation; building and reinforcing credibility among regulators, industry partners and the emergency response community.
Discussions, case studies and practical exercises cover:
- Differences between incident comms and daily corporate comms.
- Critical tasks to perform within the first 24 hours of an incident.
- How to establish/staff/plug into a joint information center.
- How the PIO and Liaison Officer (LOFR) interface.
- How to develop a public information or stakeholder engagement plan
- The key measures of PIO and LOFR effectiveness.
- The most common mistakes made by PIOs or LOFRs.
- How to use PIO and LOFR specific forms, job aids and worksheets.
We offer industry-focused versions of the same training received by EPA, USCG, FEMA, state and local emergency responders.
